WARDOGS News: Season 2, Patches & Updates
The biggest WARDOGS news is Season 2, live since Thursday 15 October 2026 with Update 0.2.0. It wiped cash and levels, added four guns, four vehicles and rain, cut high-calibre damage and armor reduction, and made every role level faster. On 17 October Bulkhead said Season 3 will come significantly earlier because progression ran too fast; there is no date yet. The game passed 3 million copies sold on 26 September and is up for Best Early Access Game at the Golden Joystick Awards.
Season 3 is coming early, with no reset this weekend
Bulkhead said the faster Season 2 progression was the wrong call: players reached tier 4 armor and main battle tanks within days, so the wipe never really landed. It ruled out a snap reset that weekend and said it is looking at bringing Season 3, and some of its content, forward significantly, so Season 2 will be shorter than planned. Some balance problems will be fixed directly, and others will be watched first. No Season 3 date has been given, and the details are due in a devlog.
Lonestar win bonus cancelled after one day
Bulkhead cancelled the Season 2 Lonestar win bonus, +5% cash and +2.5% XP for the blue team, one day after launch, and said it had been wrong to add it. All three factions now earn the same.
Season 2 is live: Update 0.2.0 and the first wipe
Season 2 went live on 15 October after a planned downtime of about 90 minutes, with the full patch notes posted on Steam the day before. Cash, Wardog level and role XP reset, and leftover savings convert to Gold Bars. The update adds the TCX-SPR, PP-19 Bizon, Evo-3 Ultra and M14, the T-72B3, Flakpanzer Gepard and two Wolf-110s, and rain. It cuts .308 damage by 25%, 7.62x54mmR by 20%, 7.62x39mm by 19% and .50 cal by 16%, drops level 3 and 4 armor to 50% and 60% reduction, makes every role level faster, and reprices vehicles, buildables and most of the vendor. The AK-74 is now unlocked by default at $800. Lonestar got a Season 2 cash and XP win bonus (cancelled the next day), team switching is restricted once a team is 10 points ahead, and teamkills are settled by a forgive-or-punish vote. The Wager Vendor opens later in the season. Bulkhead also released a one-minute Season 02 trailer on 14 October.
First press conference and the Road to Season 02 devlog
Bulkhead held its first pre-season press conference, an hour of press and creator questions on Season 2, and released the Road to Season 02 devlog. Rain is fixed for the whole match, the Mosin is limited to its 3.5x scope, late team switchers lose the map and the spawn vehicle, and player skills come in a later season. Full patch notes and the Season 2 trailer are due the week of launch.
Season 2 content revealed: four new guns, T-72, Gepard
Season 2 (Update 0.2) lands on 15 October with the TCX-SPR, M14, PP-19 Bizon and Evo-3 Ultra, a Molotov, the T-72 tank, the Gepard anti-air vehicle and two Wolf 110 variants. Rain and thunderstorms join the weather pool, mortar spam and the drill meta are nerfed, the T4 helmet gets a visor trade-off, and XP from every season is banked for future player skills. Full patch notes and the trailer are due the week before launch.
Hotfix: infrared rangefinders pulled, CIWS vs Havoc rebalanced
Infrared rangefinders were disabled at the vendor until Season 2, where they return running on batteries. Bulkhead agreed they were too strong. The CIWS now destroys a Havoc in about 6 seconds instead of 12, after the previous patch overcorrected it. A separate security and stability hotfix went out the same morning with about an hour of downtime.
Update 0.1.2: exploit fixes and a new Deploy menu
A minor patch aimed at cash and XP exploits. Revives are now checked by the server, vehicle fly-through rewards are capped, destroying a placed schematic pays less than a finished building, and pallets deposited into a FOB outside the zone pay less. Players caught abusing exploits or trading for real money had their cash and progress reset. A new Deploy menu points players to Infantry Mode and Low-Level servers.
3 million sold and a Golden Joystick nomination
Bulkhead announced 3 million copies sold just over two weeks into Early Access. WARDOGS is also nominated for Best Early Access Game 2026 at the Golden Joystick Awards, which are decided by community vote.
Season 2 confirmed for 15 October
The Season 02 teaser set the date: Thursday 15 October 2026, with more details to follow. The teaser shows rain and thunderstorms. Season 2 opens with a progress wipe, so Season 1 cash left in your stash turns into Gold Bars and your level and unlocks reset.
Launch-day hotfix: server connections
A client hotfix on Early Access launch day targeted the connection crush: players unable to join, players kicked mid-match, and long login queues. The launch trailer also confirmed WARDOGS is coming to consoles in 2028.
