WARDOGS Season 2 Start Guide: What to Do First

Updated 19 Oct 2026 · Early Access
The short answer

To start over in WARDOGS Season 2, run the free AK-74 at $800 a life, or the default PP-19 Bizon at $1,000 on medic, and keep every life cheap until your bank grows past the roughly $10,000 you restart with. Put your first unlock money into Level 1 armor and the Level 1 helmet at Wardog level 3, then save for the Galil at Assault 10. Leave the Super 45, the AMR 50 and Level 4 armor alone until you earn steadily.

~$10,000Restart cash
AK-74 $800Free default rifle
Wardog 3Level 1 armor unlock

What you start Season 2 with

The wipe on 15 October reset cash, Wardog level, role XP and every unlock you bought with cash. You keep your Gold Bars and anything you bought with them. The full list of what changed is on the Season 2 patch notes and wipe page.

Two defaults changed in your favour. The AK-74 and its 30-round magazine are now free on the Assault track, and medics get the PP-19 Bizon with a 53-round magazine. The T-21 went the other way: it is now an Assault 3 unlock that costs $1,200 a life. Logistics players should know that three supply pallets are no longer free. The Mechanical pallet unlocks at Wardog 5, the Ammo pallet at Wardog 9 and the Fuel pallet at Wardog 16.

Your first loadout after the wipe

Keep a life under about $1,500 until you have a cushion. One bad match on a $6,000 kit eats most of your restart cash, and a death you cannot afford is what keeps fresh accounts broke. If your team falls 40 or more points behind second place, the vendor gives you 20% off, so that is the moment to rebuy armor.

Default Season 2 weapons and their price a life
RoleDefault weaponPrice a lifeNotes
AssaultAK-74, 30-round mag$800Half its Season 1 price, and 5.45 was not in the damage cuts.
MedicPP-19 Bizon, 53-round mag$1,000 plus $200 a magNew in Season 2. No tested stats yet, so treat it as a close-range gun.
ReconScout Rifle TD$1,200Now one-shots a head with no helmet. A Level 1 helmet takes two.
ArmorLevel 1 armor and helmet$600Needs Wardog level 3 and $17,500 in unlocks first.

The AK-74 build covers the attachments to add as they unlock, and the budget loadout prices the cheapest kit for every role.

The first unlocks to buy, in order

Unlocks cost far more than a life does, so the order matters more than the price tag. This order spends your first $120,000 or so where it changes the most fights.

A Season 2 unlock order for a fresh account, with official Season 2 prices
OrderUnlockWhereUnlock costPrice a lifeWhy
1Level 1 ArmorWardog 3$10,000$400Armor is applied before ammo type, so it saves more lives per dollar than any gun.
2Level 1 HelmetWardog 3$7,500$200Turns a Scout Rifle one-shot into a two-shot.
3Birdcage Flash HiderAssault 2$5,000$600The first muzzle on the Assault track, down from level 16.
4GalilAssault 10$35,000$2,000The first real rifle upgrade, and 5.56 escaped the cuts too.
5CQR Tactical Front Rail GripAssault 14$10,000$1,100Strong vertical recoil control, 24 levels earlier than Season 1.
6Medical BagMedic 14$50,000$1,800Moved down from level 24, and a bag now lasts 150 instead of 100.

On medic, the MP5 at Medic 4 ($25,000 to unlock, $1,800 a life) is the first SMG upgrade. Season 2 gave it a more horizontal recoil pattern, so it kicks sideways more than it did. On recon, the SKS at Recon 5 ($25,000) is the first marksman rifle, and the Mosin follows at Recon 10.

A medic kit ladder at Season 2 prices

Medic is the cheapest role to climb, because its best tools are utility rather than guns. Each rung below adds gear as it unlocks, priced at the Season 2 vendor.

Medic loadouts by role level, with the price of each life
RungKitPrice a life
Fresh accountPP-19 Bizon with a spare mag, free Pouch and Emergency Resuscitator, Binoculars, 2 bandagesAbout $1,780
Medic 5, Wardog 3Add the Field Resuscitator (Medic 2), a white smoke (Medic 5) and Level 1 armor and helmetAbout $2,900
Medic 14Add an Individual First Aid Kit (Medic 10) and the Medical Bag (Medic 14)About $5,500
Medic 22Add the DefibrillatorAbout $7,100

Item prices: Bizon $1,000, mag $200, Binoculars $180, bandages $200 each, Field Resuscitator $425, white smoke $100, Level 1 armor and helmet $600, first aid kit $800, Medical Bag $1,800, Defibrillator $1,600. Unlocking the Field Resuscitator costs $10,000, the Medical Bag $50,000 and the Defibrillator $110,000, so the Medical Bag is the expensive step worth saving for.

The fastest XP for each role in Season 2

Every role levels faster now. Level 20 takes 111,500 XP instead of 250,000, and level 15 takes 54,750 instead of 110,000. Season 2 also moved several XP sources between tracks, so the old habits level the wrong role.

Where each role's XP comes from after the Season 2 changes
RoleWhat feeds it nowEarly milestone
AssaultKills with assault weapons, C4 and IED kills, and destroying enemy buildables, which used to pay Support.C4 and the Remote Detonator at Assault 4
DriverSupply pallets from a ground vehicle (500 XP each, plus 100 XP per pallet in a row, up to ten), vehicle repairs and artillery.T-72B3 tank at Driver 20
MedicRevives and healing, with the Medical Bag ten levels earlier than Season 1.Medical Bag at Medic 14
ReconSpotting, which pays about 30% less than Season 1 and now scales with the value of what you spot.BMR-308 at Recon 20
SupportSupplying and selling from crates. It lost buildable kills, C4 and artillery XP to other tracks.PKM at Support 15
PilotFlying, plus repairs on aircraft, which now feed Pilot instead of Support.Little Bird Miniguns at Pilot 8

Driver is the quickest track to push on a fresh account, because the pallet streak stacks fast and the run pays cash as well. Stay on the same supply route for several runs, since the bonus only counts deliveries in a row. The leveling guide breaks down each role.

How to make your first $100,000

Season 2 moved money toward fighting and away from safe, repeatable income. These are the official Season 2 payouts that matter early.

On your first matches, spotting is the low-risk opener. Binoculars cost $180 and need no unlock. Find cover that overlooks the Hot Zone and mark everything that moves. Season 2 cut spotting pay by about 30% and made it scale with what you spot, so vehicles and buildables pay more than lone players, but it still earns without a single kill.

Season 2 payouts worth chasing on a fresh account

Go with the team that hacks a FOB rather than solo it, since everyone inside the radius gets paid. The money guide ranks every earner, and the Hot Zone guide explains why fighting inside it pays more.

If you join a match in progress or switch teams, your map stays hidden and the APC stays locked until you first reach the control zone. That is the "Enter zone to sync" message. The APC guide explains the rule.

Frequently asked questions

What should I do first in WARDOGS Season 2?

Run the free AK-74 at $800 a life, or the default PP-19 Bizon at $1,000 on medic, and keep each life cheap until your bank grows past the roughly $10,000 you restart with. Your first unlocks should be Level 1 armor and the Level 1 helmet at Wardog level 3, then the Galil at Assault 10.

What do you lose when you start over in WARDOGS Season 2?

Cash, Wardog level, role XP and every cash-bought unlock reset. You restart with about $10,000. Gold Bars and the cosmetics bought with them carry over.

What is the fastest role to level in WARDOGS Season 2?

Driver is the quickest track to push early, because a supply pallet dropped from a ground vehicle pays 500 XP and each pallet in a row adds another 100 XP, up to ten. Repairing vehicles and firing artillery also feed Driver XP in Season 2.

Is the T-21 still free in WARDOGS Season 2?

No. The T-21 now unlocks at Assault level 3 for $10,000 and costs $1,200 a life. The AK-74 took its place as the free default rifle and costs $800 a life.
