WARDOGS Roles & Progression
WARDOGS has six classes: Assault, Support, Medic, Recon, Driver, and Pilot. Unlike Battlefield or Squad, they do not lock your loadout, so you can carry gear from any class at once. Two things unlock that gear: your overall War Dog level and the class XP you earn using each type of weapon. Your sidearm levels with your War Dog level rather than a class.
Because nothing is locked, you can run a sniper with a defibrillator, or an LMG with a rocket launcher, and swap it all at base whenever you want. Each item's icon shows which class its XP feeds.
How progression works
Your War Dog level is the XP you earn from everything you do. It unlocks pistols, ammo types, and some vehicles. Everything else comes from the class tracks, each leveled by that class's actions. Every unlock costs one large fee the first time you buy it, and a few are expensive, with a tank running about 400k, so it pays to be selective.
The level cap is not confirmed yet. The most detailed community guide only covers levels 1 to 35, so this guide does not claim a 1-to-100 range until the real cap is known.
The six classes
| Class | Leveled by | Unlocks |
|---|---|---|
| Assault | Kills with rifles, pistols, grenades | More assault rifles, sights, grips, muzzles |
| Support | Shotgun, LMG and rocket kills, repairs, building | LMGs, shotguns, launchers, C4, better hammers |
| Medic | Healing, reviving, SMG kills | Healing items, faster revives, smoke, SMGs |
| Recon | Sniper and DMR kills, spotting | Snipers, DMRs, claymores, ghillie, bow, scopes |
| Driver | Driving, transporting, vehicle kills | More vehicles, radio cassettes, supply cases |
| Pilot | Helicopter transport and kills | More helicopters, cassettes, better cases |
Most new players lean on Assault, Medic, and Recon first, since those three cover the main weapon families: assault rifles, SMGs, and snipers.
