WARDOGS FOB Defense (Mortars & Anti-Air)

Updated 16 Sep 2026 · Early Access
The short answer

You defend a WARDOGS FOB with three heavy weapons the large hammer unlocks: mortars to shell the enemy across the map, an anti-aircraft missile launcher to knock down helicopters, and the CIWS, a heavy gun that shreds both choppers and infantry. Build them, keep them supplied with ammo, and use them to attack first. The strongest play is to mortar the enemy's base before they finish arming theirs, targeting their anti-air, drills and spawn vehicle. This is also one of the best XP and money farms in the game.

Everything below needs the large hammer, which unlocks at support level 8. If you are still on the medium hammer, build walls and gates and let a higher-level teammate mount the weapons.

MortarShell enemy FOBs and stall their push. Your main offensive tool and a huge XP earner.
Anti-air launcherLock and destroy enemy helicopters. Denies their air power and prints XP and money.
CIWSRapid-fire gun that shoots down choppers and hoses infantry. It also tanks a lot of fire once complete.

How to aim a mortar

Mortars are indirect fire, so you aim by distance, not by looking at the target. Ping the spot you want to hit, then count the map squares to it, since each square is roughly 100 metres. Fire one test shot to see how far off you are, adjust closer or further, and fire for effect. Press the cancel key to drop out of the mortar camera between shots, and reload while you watch the last shell land so you are ready to fire again the moment you confirm the hit.

Target the enemy's big-ticket builds first

When you shell an enemy FOB, do not spread damage evenly. Hit the things that hurt you most, in order: their anti-air and CIWS, so your helicopters can operate, then their drill, so you steal the Hot Zone fight, and their spawn vehicle, which is worth a lot of money to destroy. If they start building mortars of their own, those jump to the top of the list, because a mortar duel is won by whoever silences the other first.

Build so one shell cannot wipe you

Space your drills and weapons apart. A tight cluster means a single enemy artillery strike deletes all of them at once, and you lose the whole investment in one hit. Protect the FOB core before you fortify outward, because an outer wall is useless if the box itself is exposed. Remember that an unfinished build has far fewer hit points than a complete one, so finish your CIWS and anti-air quickly rather than leaving them half-built and fragile.

Ammo is not optional

Mortars, anti-air and the CIWS all run dry. Keep a driver or pilot bringing ammo supplies to the FOB, or your weapons go silent at the worst possible moment. Check the supply bars on the map before you commit to a long barrage.
