WARDOGS BMR-308 Build: The Recon 20 Battle Rifle
The WARDOGS BMR-308 is a .308 bullpup marksman rifle at Recon level 20 for $6,250 a life. It is the fastest semi-auto marksman rifle in Season 2: 4 chest hits through a level 2 vest, one fewer than the SVD. The price is recoil, the worst-rated pattern in its class. Run it with a 2x prism and a flash hider at first, then the 4x Combat Prism, the Three Port Brake and the FAL 20-round magazine.
The BMR-308 fires .308 at 468 rounds a minute. Season 2 moved it from Recon 30 down to 20, which makes it the third marksman rifle you reach, after the SKS and SVD, and five levels ahead of the M14. Its .308 round is shared with the FAL, M14, MK22 and Evo-3 Ultra, so resupply is easier than for the SKS.
Is the BMR-308 good in Season 2?
On kill speed, yes. Season 2's marksman cut hit it hard (its chest TTK at least doubled), yet it still needs one chest hit fewer than the SVD and SKS through a level 2 vest. What holds it back is control. Players rate its recoil the worst of any marksman rifle, so the speed only shows up if every shot lands.
| Rifle | Unlock | Per life | Hits, level 2 | Time, level 2 | Hits, level 4 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SVD | Recon 12 | $4,800 | 5 | 469 ms | 7 |
| BMR-308 | Recon 20 | $6,250 | 4 | 385 ms | 6 |
| M14 | Recon 25 | $7,400 | 4 | 252 ms | 6 |
| FAL | Assault 35 | $6,000 | 6 | 425 ms | 8 |
The FAL fires the same .308 and costs about the same, but it needs 6 chest hits through a level 2 vest where the BMR needs 4, and it sits at Assault 35. The real rival is the full-auto M14: 252 ms against 385 ms. If you can hold the M14's climb, it replaces the BMR at Recon 25.
The BMR-308 build: day one and endgame
Most of the BMR's best parts unlock much later than the rifle, some on other class trees. Here is what to run the day you unlock it at Recon 20, and what to work toward.
| Slot | Day one | Endgame | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Muzzle | Deadeye Flash Hider $400 · Recon 6 | Three Port Brake $1,180 · Recon 49 | The BMR climbs hard, and the Three Port Brake is the strongest vertical fix that fits it. Until Recon 49, the BMR-308 Flash Hider ($930, Recon 24) cleans up the flash and the Constrictor Brake ($760, Recon 34) holds the sideways drift. |
| Optic | CQ-2x Prism Combat Scope $640 · Assault 12 | 4x Combat Prism Scope with Reflex $880 · Support 21 | The BMR tops out at 4x. The 2x is quick to aim, and the 4x with its backup reflex covers both long lanes and the fight that walks up on you. |
| Magazine | Stock magazine Free · Included | FAL 20 RND Magazine $150 · Assault 35 | The BMR takes the FAL magazines. The 20-round sits on the Assault tree, so it only comes if you also level Assault. The 30-round follows at Assault 50 ($250). |
The day-one kit costs about $7,290 a life with the rifle; the endgame kit about $8,460. The BMR-308 Suppressor ($1,200, Recon 33) is an option if staying off the minimap matters more than recoil, but its recoil help is minor.
How many hits does the BMR-308 need?
| Hit | None | L1 | L2 | L3 | L4 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Head | 2 | 2 | 2 | 3 | 3 |
| Chest | 3 | 4 | 4 | 5 | 6 |
| Stomach | 3 | 4 | 4 | 5 | 6 |
| Groin | 3 | 3 | 3 | 3 | 6 |
| Arm | 4 | 4 | 4 | 4 | 9 |
| Leg | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 |
| Round | None | L1 | L2 | L3 | L4 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| FMJ (standard) | 3 | 4 | 4 | 5 | 6 |
| Hollow point | 2 | 8 | 11 | 17 | 25 |
| Armour-piercing | 3 | 4 | 4 | 4 | 4 |
The BMR holds at 4 chest hits through both level 1 and level 2 vests, which is why it beats the SVD there. The groin is still the better target against level 1 to 3 vests (3 hits), and two headshots kill through a level 2 helmet. A level 4 vest pushes everything to 6.
Which ammo should the BMR-308 use?
Standard .308 for almost all of a wipe. Armour-piercing only helps from level 3 armour up (4 chest hits against 5 at level 3, and 4 against 6 at level 4), and it unlocks late: Career level 140 for $75,000. That is the latest armour-piercing unlock of any marksman round.
They unlock at Career 63 and kill a bare chest in 2, but need 8 chest hits through a level 1 vest. By the time you have them, almost everyone wears armour.
How to control BMR-308 recoil
Treat it as a single-shot rifle. Fire, let the muzzle come back down, fire again. Holding a fast cadence walks the sight off the target, and with a 4-hit kill you need all of them on target. Shoot prone or braced on cover, where the climb is smallest, and fight at the range a 4x covers, not inside buildings. The recoil guide has the marksman patterns side by side.
Frequently asked questions
Is the BMR-308 good in WARDOGS Season 2?
Yes for its kill speed, no for its recoil. It needs 4 chest hits through a level 2 vest (385 ms), one fewer than the SVD and SKS. Its pattern is the worst-rated of the marksman rifles, so it rewards single, paced shots from cover. It is the best Recon rifle until the M14 at Recon 25.
What level is the BMR-308 in WARDOGS?
Recon level 20, down from 30 in Season 1. It costs $6,250 a life and $125,000 to unlock.
What are the best BMR-308 attachments in WARDOGS?
The Three Port Brake ($1,180, Recon 49) for climb, the 4x Combat Prism Scope with Reflex ($880, Support 21) and the FAL 20 RND Magazine ($150, Assault 35). Before those unlock, run the Deadeye Flash Hider, a 2x prism and the stock magazine.
When does .308 armour-piercing unlock in WARDOGS?
At Career level 140, for $75,000. It is the latest armour-piercing unlock of the marksman rounds: 7.62x54 comes at Career 82 and 7.62x39 at Career 60.
BMR-308 or M14 in WARDOGS?
The M14 kills faster through a level 2 vest (252 ms against 385 ms) because it is full-auto, but it unlocks five levels later at Recon 25 and costs $1,150 more a life. Take the BMR at Recon 20 and switch if you can hold the M14's climb.
