WARDOGS Attachments Guide
Most of your recoil in WARDOGS is vertical, so a vertical foregrip is the one attachment worth putting on almost every weapon. After that, look for a muzzle that cuts horizontal recoil, but know it only unlocks on the class you are leveling. The trap to avoid: recoil and sway are separate stats, so buying sway reduction does nothing for the kick you fight while firing.
Which attachments actually matter
Kit for recoil control first. The early assault rifles are held back by vertical kick, and taming it does more for your hit rate than any other slot. Use the loadout planner to hang these on a specific weapon and see the cost add up.
| Attachment | What it does | Run it on |
|---|---|---|
| Vertical foregrip | Cuts the vertical kick that dominates recoil here | Almost anything |
| Muzzle (horizontal) | Reduces the sideways recoil swing | Your leveling class only |
| Bipod | Near-zero recoil when prone or on a ledge | Marksman and snipers |
| Optic | Magnification for your range band | Match it to the map |
| Extended mag | More rounds before a reload, a little more weight | Aggressive pushers |
| Suppressor | Keeps you off the minimap when you fire | Flankers and snipers |
The recoil-versus-sway trap
These are two different stats and players confuse them constantly. Recoil is the kick you fight while firing. Sway is the slow drift while you hold your aim, and it matters most on scoped rifles. Buying a sway-reduction attachment will not calm your recoil, so if your bursts climb off target, you want recoil control, not sway control.
Why the muzzle is class-locked
The muzzle that cuts horizontal recoil only unlocks on the class you are currently leveling. Other attachment types can carry over from other classes, but the muzzle cannot, which is why a weapon can feel harder to control until you have ground out its class. Plan around it: if you are leveling assault, the muzzle you want is on that track, not on your recon unlocks.
Bipods, and the SKS exception
A bipod drops recoil to almost nothing, but only when you are prone or resting on a ledge, so it rewards a patient marksman or sniper, not a mobile fighter. One catch worth knowing: the SKS bipod fits the SKS alone and runs about $10,000, so treat it as a commitment to a static playstyle rather than a cheap upgrade.
Sniper zeroing
Long scopes let you zero the range with Page Up and Page Down, out to roughly 1,000 m. Set your zero to the distance you expect to shoot and your shots land where the reticle sits, instead of you guessing holdover. It is the difference between a first-shot kill and giving your position away.
Attachment behaviour and the SKS bipod price are community-reported and patch-sensitive, not official. WARDOGS is in Early Access, so verify against your own unlock screen and treat prices as a ballpark.
