WARDOGS Best SMG Ranked (2026)
The best SMG in WARDOGS is the Super 45, an endgame medic weapon with zero vertical recoil that beams targets at close and long range. Until you reach it, the free AMP-9 is genuinely good and light enough to carry heavy armour, so it is the gun to power-level Medic on. The PP-19 is the solid mid-game step up. Skip the MP5, which is barely an upgrade. SMGs win every close fight and, at the higher levels, hold their own at range too.
SMGs sit on the Medic tree. They fire pistol rounds, so headshots do less than a rifle and they fall off harder at range, but they aim in faster, have better hip-fire, and weigh little, which keeps you mobile. Numbers below are current Early Access.

Which SMG should you buy?
Early on, do not buy anything. The AMP-9 is free, light, and good enough to carry you to medic level 11, where the defibrillator unlocks and your earning takes off. Once you want more, the PP-19 is the pick, and it stays useful for a long time with a 30-round mag on it. Save the MP5 skip and your money for the climb to level 35, because the Super 45 is a genuine tier above everything else on the tree. It is the one SMG worth reorganising a loadout around.
Why the Super 45 breaks the meta
Every other gun in WARDOGS climbs when you fire, so you fight the recoil by pulling down. The Super 45 does not climb at all. It has a small horizontal wobble and nothing vertical, which means at range you can hold the trigger and stay on target while a rifle would have walked off it. That is why it beams from close range out to distances SMGs have no business winning, and why it is expected to be toned down in a patch. Until then it is the clear best SMG, and arguably the best weapon overall.
SMGs burn ammo fast. Default mags on the PP-19 (10 rounds) and MP5 (20) are traps. Take the 30-round magazine every time, and carry loose ammo rather than extra mags to save backpack space.
